Information security engineers secure Seattle Cannabis Exchange's office and production environments, and drive IT and security initiatives across the company.
Seattle Cannabis Exchange is a rapidly growing company with an intense focus on solving challenging technical problems. We are now looking for a highly talented and motivated Information Security Engineer to drive initiatives to handle our IT and security needs across the company. As the first dedicated person in this role at Seattle Cannabis Exchange you'll work on the infrastructure engineering team, secure our office and production environments, manage our third-party IT firm, oversee all asset purchases and technical operations accounts, and contribute to our future success as an organization.
Take a leadership role in driving internal security projects over the office and our production environment.
Find and fix security problems, providing security guidance for new projects and infrastructure.
Build and manage internal tools that detect and respond to security issues.
Assess and implement vendor security solutions that support our mission.
Make intelligent decisions around prioritization of efforts based on risk.
Hands-on management of our third-party IT firm, their work and the SLAs that they have.
Oversee all asset purchases and technical operations accounts.
Work with infrastructure and product engineers to adopt security best practices.
B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience working with multiple operating systems, with expert level knowledge of UNIX, Windows or OS X.
Strong, well rounded background in host, network and application security.
Experience with applied cryptography including PKI, SSL, and key management.
Experience with malware, antivirus detection and prevention, and group password policy enforcement.
Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, and network services such as DNS, SMTP, DHCP, etc.
Experience working with Cisco ASAs, firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
Expertise with an interpreted programming language (PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.).
Expertise with hosted environments on Amazon EC2 and the command-line.
Extensive knowledge of internet security issues and the threat landscape.
Knowledge of Google Apps, iOS and Android.
Familiarity with ticketing and incident management processes and software.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
